Using a freestanding punch bag is a great way to get in shape and lose any pent-up frustrations. Punch bags come in many different forms, the hang from the ceiling speed balls, the full length kick bags and the freestanding bag.
I have been using a freestanding punch bag for around 2 years now and will never buy a hanging one again, as I get a lot better work out on one of these. The last hanging bag I had pulled down my garage roof, granted the roof wasn't in the best shape.
